for municipal water systems, sieves in Abruzzo E 'between the regions with the greatest losses in the network. Fees and bills below the national average
WATER SERVICES Data elaborated by the Centre for Active Citizenship on the eve of the Day World Water
Pescara-Abruzzo ruined by landslides and floods stands out among the regions where it disperses more drinking water pipes. And 'what is learned through the data of the Istat report, elaborated by the Centre for Abruzzo Prices and Cittadinanzattiva the eve of World Water Day. In 2009, Italy, 35 percent of drinking water has been lost. Abruzzo, with 45% of waste found, was able to do better just Molise (65%) and Basilicata (58%), compared to third last in the rankings compiled by Legambiente, Urban Ecosystem 2010. A study that helps explain why the propensity for the 'wastage' has been consolidation among citizens and communities administered as a custom which has the feel of inevitability. Thus it is clear that the Italians, uninformed on the subject of drinking and exceptions, skeptical about the controls, they are ready to spend up to € 40 per month to buy mineral water contained in plastic bottles that pile up in landfills or are disposed of. Below are the average annual costs of water services, which together have grown in the Abruzzo region of 2.4 per cent in response to increases of 6.7% registered on a national scale. Pescara exception to this trend, by 12%, has significantly increased prices in 2009, although starting from the lowest rates applied in the Abruzzo region the previous year. The city is more virtuous Teramo. Here the water for domestic use is cheaper (184 €), while L'Aquila is the capital where it costs more (248 €), with Teramo and Chieti in 2009 do not indicate any increase in tariff. Without a bit 'accounts into his pocket, a family faces a Abruzzo average annual expenditure of € 213 for water service. Cost, despite the destruction of the dispersion, and damage "side" of the hydro-geological territory, it is still much lower than the national average of 270 €. The focus of the Centre of Active Citizenship has been focused on integrated water for domestic use, including the costs for water, sewerage and sewage fees, fixed fee or former freight counters. The data refer to a typical family of three people with an annual consumption of 192 cubic meters of water (in line with that calculated by the Supervisory Committee on the use of water resources), and include VAT at 10 percent. According to Active Citizenship, the contradictions of the integrated water service, plus data on the dispersion, the lack of reform and the absence of a regulatory authority, are likely to ferry water management from public to private monopolies. A path that could, however, love surprises in this reserve Antonio Gaudioso, deputy secretary general of the movement for consumer protection. "Contrary to the promises ventilated in favor of privatization of public waters," says Gaudioso, "in all cases we have seen, after a few months since the introduction of privately run, higher prices and tariffs. The result is plain for all, with the fool, followed by the recent stop of the European Union to the exceptions to the levels of drinking water in different parts of the country. " (Fc)
